Preserving a Piece of Knoxville’s History

For generations, Concord Masonic Cemetery has served as the final resting place for members of the Concord community and their families. Today, Chota Lodge works to preserve the cemetery, protect its history, and care for it for future generations.

More Than a Cemetery

Concord Masonic Cemetery is part of the surviving landscape of Old Concord, a community rooted in the mid-nineteenth century.

Laid out in 1854, Concord grew through the Tennessee marble industry and regional transportation before changing significantly during the twentieth century. As industry declined and Fort Loudoun Lake reshaped much of the original town, the cemetery remained. Its monuments preserve the names of generations who lived, worked, worshiped, served, and built community.

Closely connected with Chota Masonic Lodge No. 253, whose history in Concord dates to 1856, the cemetery continues to serve families while preserving an enduring piece of Olde Concord.
